At least 50 African Union soldiers killed in deadly Al-shabab attacks.

      An unexpected deadly attack carried out by Somalia based al-Qaeda-linked militant group Al-shabaab have left more than 50 African Union troops station in the country dead, local media reported. The attack occured at African Union military base station in a town, 90km from the capital Mogadishu. According to the militant spokesperson, Abdiaziz Abu Musab, the attack was a retaliation of the alledged killing of five men in Merka by Uganda troops. According to witness, hundreds of Al-shabab militants storm the base at dawn. The militant first rammed a car loaded with explosives into the compound and exploded. The heavly armed militants then entered the base by foot and started shooting. According to report, it will be difficult to send re-enforcement as the bridge leading to  the area was completely blew up by the militants. Witness said, there was high casualties figure as the militant also captured some wounded soldiers. Al-shabab claimed more than 80 troops were killed. Al-shabaab is a powerful militant group based in Somalia and was once controling over 60% of the country before the country national army backed by African Union troops recaptured most of the territory from the militant group. Despite African Union troops claimed that they have push the militant out of most the town, the group is very active in the country. There are frequent reports of sucide bombing  and cordinated attack carried out by the group.
