Russian opposition leader Nentsov shot dead by unknown gunmen in Moscow.

        One of the leading opposition in Russia Boris Nemtov has been shot dead by unknown gunmen in Moscow, which many believe may have been a politica assisination. He was killed in central Moscow early on Saturday. The Russian Interior ministry, said the shooting took place shortly after midnight. Interior ministry spokeswoman Yelena Alexyeva told reporters that Nemtsov was walking with a female acquaintance, when a white vehicle drove up and opened fire on the opposition leader and killed him. He was a leading critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin. In recent days, he was promoting an opposition rally planned for Sunday before his dream was cut short. He was reported to have appeared on a radio programe urging listeners to attebd the plannned March rally.

Mexico police captures most wanted drug lord "La Tuta"

   Mexico authority has captured the country most wanted drug lord, Servando "La Tuta" Gomez, head of the knights Templar cartel,  Mexico police said. According to local media Servando Gomez Martinez, also known as " La Tuta", was captured on Friday in the city of Morelia, in Michoacam state. He has been wanted by both Mexico and US, and authorities have offered a reward of two million dollars for his capture. The 49 years old cartel leader was a teacher before he joinedthe drug business. Gomez envaded capture for more than 9 year the federal government took over the state to try to restore order. Gomez is implicated in the 2009 murder of 12 Mexican federal police officers.

Kidnapped girl found in South Africa after 17 years.

      A baby stolen from her mother while sleeping shortly after birth has been found by the family---living just a few miles away from their home in Cape Town. Zephany Nurse was abducted fron a hospital in Cape Town three days after her birth in April, 1997, local media reported. A 50 -year-old woman has been arrested and charged with kidapping after pupils noticed a remarkable likeness between the 17 -year-old and her younger biological sister, who started attending the same school. The arrested woman and her husband have no other children. The child's real mother told authorities, she saw a woman  dressed in a nurse's uniform holding her baby before the child disapeared.

An avalanche of snow killed over 200 people in Afghanistan, Panjshir province.

       More than 200 people have been killed in an avalanche in north eastern Afghanistan's Panjshir province. The avalanches was caused by a heavy winter snow , emergency official said Thursday. The death toll has risen sharply as some media outlet previously reported death toll as 100. Resue team doing everything possible to rescue victims. Officials warned of an imminent humanitarian emergency in areas most severely hit by the bad weather. The Panjshir acting governr said " we haven't seen this much snow, or this many avalanches for 30 years". Afghanistan has been fighting Taliban Insurgency for 10 years now since US invasion of the country.

37 people dead in Bangladesh ferry accident.

     At least 37 people lost their lives after a ferry carrying more than 100 passengers capsized in Bangladesh, officials said. The ferry was reported to have hit by a cargo vessel, local media reported. New.com.au quoted local police chief Rakubuz Zaman who said "Divers have recovered 41 bodies, including 11 children and seven women". The ferry collide on the river Padma with a cargo ship. The vessel was reportedly heading to the town of Paturia in Manikganj district, 70 kilometer from the capital Dhaka.

Breaking News: Islamic State in New video Threaten Burning 27 caged Kurdish Peshmerga fighters.


          Islamic State has paraded captured Kurdish Peshmerga fighters in cages. The video shows the prisoners in orange jumpsuits, CNN reported. The captured Peshmerga fighters were interviewed by an ISIS militant holding a microphone featuring the group's logo. The nine minutes video, entitled " Healing the Chest of Those who Believe" in Kurdish accompanied by Arabic subtitles. The footage was believed to have been firmed in Hawija, in Iraq's Kirkuk province, although the date could not be verified. The parade could be seen as revenge for horrific reports of Kurdish forces dragging the bodies of ISIS fighters through the street in the Kurdish region of Iraq ealier this month.

Nigerian troops recaptured Baga, as fleeing terrorist drown in Lake Chad.

         Nigerian forces has recaptured Baga town from Boko Haram terrorists which was captured earlier in year by the terrorists, Army said in a statement. After surviving "1500 spot with mines", Nigerian troops reclimed Baga town from Boko Haram terrorist. The Director of Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade said " A large number of terrorists have drowned in the lake chad as they fled the heavy bombardment by the Nigerian Airforce. He added that five anti aircraft guns, rafles, 34 motor cycles and 5 vehices including trucks being used for operations by terrorist were destroyed in the course of the fighting.

Islamic State bombers killed 40 people and wounded 70 in Libya.

         Forty people were killed and at least 70 wounded in a deadly suicide car bomb attacks in Qubbah on Friday, Libya parliament speaket Aguila Saleh sais. The attacks in the town of Qubbah appeared to be one more turn in a cylcle of retaliation that began with ISIS beheading of 21 Egyptian coptic christians and Egypt retaliates with airstrikes. A statement signed by Islamic State branch in the eastern cyrenaica region said two of its fighters carried out the suicide bombings in retaliation for Egypt airstrikes on the militants stronghold of Derna. Libya local media reported that the bombs exploded shortly before Friday prayers at a petrol station,  the local security headquaters and the town council in Qubbah.

Suicide attack at Somalia hotel killed at least 15 people.

          A powerful explosion strunk a Central Hotel in Somalia's capital when Government officials were meeting in the hotel. Both the Central and Naasa Habblood hotels that were targeted are close to the presidential compound. Security source said at least 10 people were killed and 15 injured, Wall street journal reported. Aljazeera reported that the deputy mayor of Mogadishu, as well as two members of parliament were killed. Alshabab militants group claimed responsibility of the attack.

Turkish members of parliaments exchange blows in Parliament.



             Lawmakers from Turkey ruling AK party exchanged blows with opponents on Thursday evening after a disagreement on a debate. Pictures from the debate showed MPs exchanging blows. One opposition deputy tumbled backwards down a flight of stairs.  Footage of MPs getting into a mass brawl was released Friday after the rulling party and the opposition exchanging blow, ynetnews.com reported. It happened when the MPs refused to agree on a debate over a homeand security bill in paliament. Hurriyet daily reported that opposition party voiced the objections to the bill which later resulted to verbal exchanges between the two sides and escalated into exchanging blows.

Dozens of people injured in Switzerland Train collision.


         Scores of people have been injured after two passenger trains collided in Switzerland on Saturday. " There was an accident this morning, it's serious, there are injured" a police spokeswoman told Associated France Press (AFP. Police described the situation as "serious". There was smoke in the front area of the trains, witness told local media. The collision happened at the train station in the Switzerland town of Rafz around 30km north of Zurich. Ambulances and fire and rescuers rushed to the scene after the collision.

Deadly weather condition hits parts of United State.

          A deadly winter storm paralyzed much of east United States on Tuesday. Huge snow fall were reported in parts of Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky and west Virgina. Boston Mayor Martins J. Waslsh said Monday the storm has left one person dead. The storm dumped snow and spread ice from New England into the Carolinas after battering the mid west and Ohio valley.  State emergency management Agency said 10 deadth have been blamed on the dangerous weather. Four of the deaths stemmed from car accident, and five were tie to deadly hypothermia. The National weather service notes that temperature on Thursday were 25 to 45 degree fahrenheit.

Islamic State burn 40 people alive in Iraq town of al-Baghdadi ---- Report.

         ISIS captured 45 people ad burned them to death. A number of the victims were Iraqi security forces, Iraqi official told America Media CNN  on Wednesday. A provincial council Chairman Sabah Karkhout said he was advised by his field commanders near the al-Baghdadi front line that ISIS terrorist killed atleast 40 police officers and tribermen and that most of the victims were " burned to death". The report has not be independently be verified but Pentagon spokesman Rear Adm John Kirby said the report "is being analyzed" ISIS militants were also reported to have involve in harvesting organs from slain civilians and sells them in the black market in Europe.

300 Boko Haram fighters killed in recaptured Monguno town---Defence Headquarters.

        Nigerian military said its forces has killed 300 Boko Haram militant fighters. Defence spokes petson Chris Olukolade said in a statement on Wednesday. " weapons and equipment were also capured and some destroyed", Olukolade said. However, two soldiets lost their lives while 10 others were wounded" he added. There was no independent erification of the claims. Civilian vigilantes in the town who spoketo AFP confirmed that the town had been retaken by Nigerian forces but said only that there heavy casualties.

Unidentified war plane bombed mourners mistaken for Boko Haram, 20 killed.

      At least 20 mourners at a funeral ceremony werw killed when an unidentified plane bombarded a village in Niger near the Nigerian border, Nigeria local media reported. Military source in the town of Bosso, in Niger said the incident occurred in a village across the border in the Abafam area. The source said the victims were residents who were gathered for a cetemony but who were mistaken for terrorist. A humanitarian source put the death toll at between 20  and 30 while two local officials told AFP there were 31, or 32 dead and 20 wounded.

Twenty Afghanistan police lost their lives in deadly Taliban attack.

       At least 20 Afghanistan policemen were killed on Tuesday in a Taliban deadly attack. Taliban gunmen and suicide attackers strike police headquarters in Puli Alani city, southern Afghanistan capital Kabul, Times of Oman reported. The defence ministry said 76 insurgents were killed on Monday when Afgha forces launched assault, which also target militants in six districts in neighouring Kandahar, Farah and Uruzgan province. Taliban strunk when Afghan police officers were filing into dinnimg hall for lunch. The attackers dressed on Afghan security uniform. A member of the Logar province council said, "the explosion was so strong that it blown the metal roof of the dinning hall".

13 family members killed in building cllapse in Northern India State of Pradesh.

        A building in northern India has collapsed, killing a family members of 13. The three storey building in northern India state of Uttar Pradesh was near completion when it collapsed on a family of 13 who were asleep on the floor, police said. The roof of the house suddenly gave way, trapping the residents, four of whom managed to escaped from the rubbles with the help of neighbours, Tribune.com.pk reported. Police suprintendent Chandauli Muniray said the building was being hurried constructed. " Within  a month they built two stories" "We will investigate the cause of the collapse" , he said.

Breaking News: Islamic States slaughters 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians in Libya.


       A video has emerged online purportedly showing the beheading of 21 coptic Egyptian christians who had been held hostage by Islamic States and was taken to unknown destination. The footage appeared to show 21 handcuffed hostages wearing orange junap suits being beheaded, BBC World News reported. According Qatar based news network Aljazeera, the video of the murder was titled " A message signed with blood of the nation of the cross" . On Friday, Islamic State released photos of the Egyptians, saying they had been hold hostage to avenge the fate of muslim women "tourtured and killed by the Coptic church in Egypt.

Atleast 90 people killed in intensified fighting in Southern Syria.

        Heavy fighting in southern Syria have killed 92 people in the past week, Syria Observatory for Human Right reported. Syria's army back by Hezbollah militias fighters launched a large -scale offensive in Southern Syria last week in an attempt to recapture the region from rebela. More than 50 rebels were killed so far in the fighting, Syrian Observatory For Human Right said. 43 Syria's army and Hizbollah militia fighters were also killed. The Monitory group said, 10 fighters from Syria government side were executed after they were accused of leaking information to the enemy.

Kenya media regulator authorities has forcefully shut down NTV, Citizen TV, KTN and QTV


               Officials of the communications Authority of Kenya forced their way into the site from which QTV, NTV, Citizen TV and KTN broadcast their analogue signals and switch off the trasmission, Business daily reported. The authorities decidedto shut the Television stations who fails to comply with new digital transmission broadcasting which takes effects in 2015 in the country. Majority of Kenyan recieves their Television signal through analogue signals because pay TV in the country such as StarTimes Kenya and GOTV Kenya are expensive for low income earners. Kenya former prime minister Raila Odinga said the government had thrown the entire country into information darkness. He said Jubilee government must explain what interests they have in keeping Kenyans information  darkness and asked Kenyans to demand their right to information.

Heavy fighting between Houthi militians and AlQaeda fighters leave 26 dead.

         Fighting between Shiite Houthi fighters and AlQaeda Islamist militants has resulted in the death of 26 people in Yemen. Sixteen Houthi fighters and 10 sunni tribesmen lost their lives in heavy fighting in al-Bayda, reuters news agency reported. Over the past months, al-Qaeda militants have frequently carried out attacks on Yemen's security forces. On Thursday, al-Qaeda- affiliate group terrorist attack Yemen's 19th infantry Brigadein Beithan and captured the army base. Eight soldiers abd four militants were killed in the battle. Meanwhile, some countries such as US, Italy, Saudi Arabia, France, Germany United Arab Emirates has closed their embassy in Yemen due to security break down in the country.

Pope Francis meets with Iran's vice president of Women and Family Affairs.


               Pope Francis met with a prominent Iranian politician in the Vatican. Shahindokth Molaverdi, serves as the vice president of the country's women and Family Affairs Department. She led an all female delegation tothe Vatican, www.romereports.com said. In their meeting,  they discussed about how to improve the interfaith relationship between Islam and Christianity in an effort to improve a culture of peace. The Iranian delegation gave Pope Francis a ceramic piece. In turn, Pope Francis gave her, a medallion of the Angel of peace.

47 Myanmar Soldiers killed in clashes with rebels near China's border.

            Forty-seven Burmese soldiers have been killed in fighting with insurgents near the border with China, Myanmar military said in a statement. The state-run Global New Light newspaper reported that Army lunched offensive airstrikes in response of the attack. The fighting and heavy casualties are a major setback for government trying to restore nationwide cease fire. The milutary said 73 soldiers have been wounded in clashes from Monday - Thursday. The general secretary of the Myanmar national Democratic Alliance Army told a Thai newspaper that two rebels were killed and one injured. The source also reported that about 10,000 people fled the area as the Army launched airstrikes.

A summary history of Valentine's Day.


            Valentine's Day is named in honour of Saint Valentine, the patron Saint of lovers who, it is believed was murdered on February 14 AD 270. During the time the Roman emperor Claudius II cancelled all marriage and engagements in Rome, as he was having a hard time getting men to join the military and he believed married men, being emotionally attached to their lovers (wives) and families, did not make good soldiers. However, Valentine secretly join couples despite the ban and He was later caught and reported to emperor Claudius II. Valentine refused to renounce his christian beliefs, was sentenced to be beaten to death with clubs and have his head cut off. When in prison Saint Valentine fell in love with the jailer's daughter who often visit him in the prison . The day he was to be executed, he left a written note for the jailer's daughter which read " Love from your Valentine". It was the Pope who set aside February 14 to honour St. Valentine in AD 496.

Taliban attack shia mosque in Peshewar, Pakistan, killing 20 people.


          A deadly Taliban attack in a shia mosque in Peshawar has left 20 people dead. Taliban suicide bombers stormed a crowded shia mosque during Friday prayers, opening fire and exploding bombs. The attack in the city of Peshawar wounded 60 people, Aljazeera news network reported. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack. The attackers was reported to have entered the mosque from a building next door that was under construction. Two weeks ago, another attack in a shia mosque in Pakistan left more than 60 people dead. The attack marks the latest violence against a religious minority that has suffered repeated bombings and assassination by Islamic militants.

At least 300 African migrants are missing and likely dead in Mediterranean sea.

        The United Nations refugee agency says at least 300 African migrants are missing and may likely dead after they triedto cross from North Africa nation of Libya to Europe (Italy). The suspected deaths add to the 29 reported died of cold weather condition earlier in the week by the Italian coast guard. The spokeswoman for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) in Italy, Carlotta Sam on Tueday called on European Union (EU) to employ effective measures to save lived of the migrants. The agency said "218,000 people, including  both migrants and refugee have crossed the meditearraean Sea in 2014.

29 African migrants die at sea while crossing From North Africa to Italy.


          At least 29 African migrants lost their lives while travelling from North Africa to Italy aboad a smuggler's life raft in heavy sea, the Italian coast Guard said Monday. The victim werw reported to have died from hypithermia as a result of harsh winter conditions. The boat was trying to cross Mediterranean in rough sea and freezing temperatures, Italian  coast guard commander Filipo Marini said, Associated Press reported. He said Rescuer found seven corpses on board the raft while the rest of the victims, in a very bad  phyisical condition died during the rescued operation and while being transported to land.

At least 22 people killed in stampede as Police clash with football fans in Cairo.


                Twenty-two people were killed outside a stadium in Egypt on Sunday when Egyptian security personnels prevented fans from entering the stadium, official said. Most of those reported killed suffocated when the crowd stampeded when police use tear gas to dispersed fans trying to force their way into the stadium where football match betweenu two clubs where going on, Alarabiya reported. The fans blamed the Egyptian security forces for opening only a single gate. A warrant of arrest was issued for leaders of the Zamalek supporters group, the white knights. The stadium was piles of shoes left behind by those who lost their lives and those who wounded.

Nigeria postpones presidential election.

          The Nigeria Election body (INEC), has decided to postpone the February 14 presidential and legislative elections to March 28. According to an Associated Press (AP) report, this development is to enable multinational forces set up by African Union time, to secure Boko Haram controls area in North East of the country. The postponement will increase tension surrounding an intense election campaign which has been conclucted in the shadow of Boko Haram's brutal assaults on town and villages of the north-east parts of the country.

Mexico police found 60 abandoned bodies in Acapulco.





           Mexico police have found 60 bodies in an abandoned crematorium in the Acapulco, official say. Mexico local media reported that residents in the area became suspicious of the smell in the area and called the police. The bodies found  were women, men , children " perfectly embalmed" and ready for cremation, official said. The police made the grim discovered of bodies covered in white sheets, some pile on top of each other. A forensic team was studying the bodies in an attempt to identify them. The authorities asked funeral homes in Acapulco to supply a list of all the bodies they sent for cremation since 2013.

Suicide bomber kills at least 36 people in Iraq capital Baghdad.

           Thirty six people were killed and at least 94 wounded in two suicide bomb attacks in the capital Baghdad Saturday. Associated France Press reported that restaurant was targeted by a suicide bomber in the predominently shia neighbourhood of Jididah. The attack on the restaurant  killed at least 23 people and dozens injured. The attack came on the day the Iraqi government decidede to lift the night -time curfew imposed on the Iraqi capital for years in order to maintain security in the city.

Nine people killed in Bangladesh fire bomb attack.

            Nine people including two children, were reported burned alivein Bangladesh when oppisition activists hurled petrol bomb at a packed bus and a truck, Bangladesh police said on Saturday. The bus was attacked late Friday night in the northern Gaibandha district while it was moving torwards the caputal amid police escort. Thirty people were reported to have injure., Bangladesh media reported. Three people died in a similar arson attack on a truck in the southern district of Barisal early on Saturday, police said. Reuters news agency reported that the BND has been blocading roads, railways and waterways and says it will continueto do so until the legitimate central government of pime minister Sheeikh Hasina vacate office.

Niger''s army kill 109 Boko Haram Islamist militants.

                 Niger army says it has killed 109 fighters of Boko Haram Islamist terrorist group following the militants' attack on Bosso and Diffa, towns in southeastern town in Niger., State Tv reported. Four Niger army were reported to have lost their lives in the deadly battle with the militants. Niger defence minister said that 109 of the Islamist militants were killed, along with four soldiers and a civilian. Seventeen other soldiers were also wounded. Niger announced on Thursday, that early next week, it would ask  its paliament to approve sending troopsto Nigeria  to fight tBoko Haram miltants alongside Chadian and Camroun troops.

Jordanian airstrikes against Islamic State killed 55 people including Top military commander.


        Jordanian fighter jets struck Thursday Isaic State hideouts in  Syria. Unconfirmed report said, dozens of Islamic State fighters were reported killed n the revenge attack., which also targeted ISIS headquaters sites, training camp and weapn storage depots, Jordanian State TV reported. Footage from Jordanian State Television showed the devastating effects of the deadly attack. The airstrikes came few hours after Jordanain king Abdullah II pledged a "severe" response after ISIS set captured Jordainan fighter jet pilot alight.

Chadian soldiers killed more than 200 Boko Haram terrorists.

         Chad military said Wednesday it killed " over 200" Boko Haram Islamist militants in a border town that it wrested from the rebels in a ground offensive. The offensive was reported to have launched by Camerounian and Chadian forces. Chad's army and state Television said it had " completely wipeout" Boko Haram bases at Gambaru and Ngala in northern Nigeria on Tuesday killing more than 200 militants. Nine Chadian soldiets also list their lives in the brave offensive. Chadaian Television footage on Wedneday showed Jubilant Chadian forces cheering near bodies of dead Boko Haram fighters.
