Yemen's president Hadi loyalist fighters recapture largest airbase from Houthi rebels.

Yemeni exiled president Abed Mansour Hadi loyalist fighter has capturd the country's larget airbase from Iran-back Houthi rebels. Hadi loyalist fighters backed by Saudi-led coalition air cover launched the offensive from a mountainous region of the airbase, local media reported. According to Hadi loyalist military commander, dozens of Houthi rebels were killed or captured. The recapture of the airbase mark another major victory to the Hadi loyalist after they defeated Houthi rebels from the port city of Aden. It may recall that Houthi rebels seized Sanai, the Yemen's capital in 2014 without any resistance from the national army. The rebels then placed the legitimate president Hadi under House arrest and forced him to resigned. Later, the president escaped from house arrest and fled to Aden and announced he is still the legitimate president of Yemen. He opened a presidential palace in Aden, southern part of Yemen where he was running the country. Houthi rebels advanced to Aden in an attempt to capture the president but the President fled to Saudi Arabia for safety. Saudi Arabia formed Arab coalition in an attempt to dislodge and degrade the Houthi rebels. Since then, the coalition has carried out intensive air assault to weaken the rebels military capability.
