36 people killed in New Years' stampede in China.


                      Thirty-six people have been killed in a stampede during New year's celebrations in Waterfront area in Shanghai, official said Thursday. A Shanghai government statement said 46 people injured and are recieving treatment in the hospital including 14 who were seriouly injured. The Xinhua news Agency quoted an unidentified witness as saying people had screamed for coupons that looks like dollars bills that were being thrown out of a third floor window. Dozens of police were reported to had arrived at the sceen. Some policemen stood guard at Shanghai people's Hospital where many of the injured were being treated, The India Epress reported.
