A suspected gas explosion was on Saturday rocked Arakale in Akure, Ondo state. The explosion supposedly from a gas station has spread rapidly towards residential buildings. Many people were reported to have lost their lives immediately the explosion occured. The inciden attract many sympathisers who tried to put out the fire hours before the arrival of fire servicemen. Some protesting residents were seen throwing stones to the fire servicemen. Soldiers from 32 Artillery Brigade had to be called in help restore order, so the fire officials could be allowed to do their job.
