Afghanistan Security forces kill 216 militants in 48 hours.

       Afghan armed forces killed 216 militants in operations in different parts of the country in the last 48 hours. The operation is consider as one of the largest assault against the suspected Taliban militants. Media sources citing Afghan Defense Ministry said 216 of the armed insurgents were killed and 142 injured. 12 Afghan forces were also killed during the operations and exchange of gun fire with the militants, according to The Times of India. The opetation were reported to had taken place in the province of Kunar, Laghman, Kapisa, Maidan Wardak, Ghazni, Paktia, Urozgan, Daikundi, Kandahar, Takhar, Kundoz and Helmand. Afghanistan has been battling with in surgency since U.S led coalition forces invaded the country and bombard the Taliban regime who was in power and finally toppled the regime. Taliban militants has been fighting back to try to toppled U.S backed government in Afghanistan.
