At least 30 suspected Boko Haram fighters have been killed after Niger's armed forces launched assault against the militants. The operation started on Thursday in villages over the border with Nigeria, Reuters news agency reported citing security sources. " Our defense forces who are engaged in the oprration inside Nigeria between the town of Malam Fatori and Damasak, killed the insurgents on Thursday", according Reuters quoted a security source as saying. Suspected Boko Haram attack in Nigeria town of Gombe on the eve of Muslim feasting season and Damaturu on Friday morning left about 63 people dead.
