Nine Algerian army killed in militants ambush.

    Nine Algerian army lost their lives after vehicles they were travelling with ambushed by Al-Qaeda North Africa branch. The armbush was reported to have happened in Ain Defla province southwest of the nation's capital of Algeiers. "A detachment of the army was targeted by a terrorist group. We deplore the death of nine Soldiers as martyrs and two injured", according to VOA citing Algeria's Defense ministry. Media sources said AQaeda North Africa branch has claimed responsibility for the deadly atttack. According to reports, the militants said it killed 14 soldiers against 9 announced by the defense ministry. Militant groups are active in the North African country. French tourist was beheaded by militants affiliates to Islamic State. Militants also hold foriegn workers hostage for days in French gas plant in Algeria which to the death of some workers. The head of AlQaeda North Africa branch was reported killed by US drone strikes weeks ago.
