The India Air force is to buy 48 tactical transport helicopters from Russia, Economic Times of India reported. " The India air force really has proposed to purchased an additional 48 MI-17V-5 helicopters.However, the price and other financial aspects of the proposal cannot be discussed", Singh Birdi told Russia news agency RIA Novosti. The India's daily The Economic Times said on Monday that the deal is worth over 1 billion U.S dollars. In may Russian media reported that India was in negotiationsto purchase about 200 smaller Ka-226T helicopters for a total of 470 million U.S dollars, according to UK Morningstar.
