At least 21 people have lost their lives in landslides caused by heavy rainfall in west Bengal state of India. Darjeeling district police suprintendent Amit Javalgi said " Resuers have dug out 13 bodies in Mirika, five bodies in Kalimpong and three bodies in Dargeeling town". Many people were reported to have trapped under mounds of mud and debris, according to the BBC. Over hundred homes and roads had been washed away in the two town.
