Solar plane Takes off on historic 120-Hours Flight Across Pacific Ocean.
Solar Impulse 2 has taken off from Japan toward Hawaii in an attempt to fly across the globe using solar power, Daily Mail reported. The plane took off from Nagoya Airfied in Japan on Sunday and is scheduled to arrived in Hawaii, according to Aljazeera. The 120 hours from Japan to Hawaii is considered as the longest journey Solar plane have emback. The Solar Impulse 2 is a light weight aircraft driven by four electric propellers and banks of Solar panel atop its wings and fuseage, according to Japan times. The Solar Impulse 2 is the first aircraft to fly day and night without any fuel. "Can you imagine that a solar powered airplane without fuel can now fly longer than a jet plane", Bertrand Piccard, one of the airplane's two alternating pilots said, Japan Times reported.
