Witness: Hundreds of bodies fund in Nigerian town of Damasak.
Hundreds of skeletons of children, women and men believed killed by Boko Haram have been found in a recaptured Nigerian border town of Damasak. The town fell to Boko Haram in November, 2014 but was recaptured by Nigerien and Chadian soldiers in March, 2015. Local government spokesperson Babagana Mustapha says a committee sent to Damasak at the weekend found the town littered with bodies of women, children and some adult men. A coalition of troops from Chad, Cameroon, Niger and Nigeria claimed major voctories since Febuary, reportedly flushing militants out of areas they previously captured.
Indonesia executes 8 prisoners, including 7 foreigners, convicted on Drug charges.
Eight people have been executed by a firing squad in Indonesia convicted of drug charged despite an international outcry. The government had announced that nine convicted prisoners would be executed by a firing squad, but local media reported that, Finipinia Mary Jane Veloso was spared, for now. The eight people who were executed with firing squad were Indonesia Zainal Abidin, Austrialian Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran, Brazilian Rodrigo Gularte, Nigerian Sylvester Obiekwu Nwolise, Raheem Agbaje Salami and Okwudili Oyatanze , Ghanian Martin Anderson. Mary Jane Fiesta Veloso of the Philippines was spared after a woman who allegedly recruited her to act as a drug courier gave herself up to police in the Philippines on Tuesdays, Jakarta post reported.

Nigerian army claims 293 girls and women rescued from Boko Haram camps in Sambisa Forest. It has not been comfirmed if the Chibok girls who were kidnapped by Boko Haram exactly a year ago are among them. The Nigeria Defence Headquaters Twitter acount announced the information. " Troops captured ad destroyed three terrorist camps including the notrious Tokumbere camp in the Sambisa forest operation" "The freed persons are not being screened ad profiled. We will bring you detail later" , the statement said. In recent weeks, Nigeria troops and local vigilantes moved into the Sambisa forest after Nigeria troops pull out of the forest due to explosive devices Boko Haram planted in the Boko Haram.

Heavy rain, strong winds kill at least 44 in Pakistan.
Dozens of people lost their lives and many more injured after heavy rain and winds hits Pakistan's north west city of Peshawar. The death toll was 44 and 200 iniured following heavy rain and wind storm in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan, local media reported on Monday. Rescue workers were scrambling to reach dozens of people believed trapped under collapsed buildings Monday after heavy overnight downpour , and strong winds. The strong wing and heavy downpour caused collapsed of house walls and ceilings. Trees and poles fell in Nowshesha, Akbarpura and other areas located on the outstirt of Peshawar, Geo news reported. Pakistan military has joined the rescue operation today.
Nepal earthquake death toll rises to 4100.
TheDeath toll from a powerful earthquake that strunk Nepal on Saturday has passed 4100. A Nepal television station said citing the country's Interior Ministry on Monday that the death toll from this weekend earthquake currently top 4,138. So far 18 people have been confirmed dead in an avalanche that swept through the Mount Everest base camp after the earthquake. Another 61 people lost their lives in neighouring India, and 20 in China Tibet region.

At least 56 killed in India after earthquake that rocked Nepal on Saturday hit north and east India.
At least 56 people have been killed abd over 200 injured as the massive earthquake epicentred in Nepal joited several North and East India states. Sources from the country said 50 death being reported from Bihar, 13 from Uttar Pradesh, two from west Bengal and one from Rajastan. Hindustan times reported that people across large parts of north India, from Himachal Pradesh to Madhya Pradesh and from the Northeast to Rajastan, felt the two - minutes - long tremor and its aftershocks. Bangladesh bdnews24 reported that tremours were felt between 11.30am and 12.30 pm, creating all-round panic with people rushing out of their houses and moving to safer places.

Oppisition figures and human Right groups say the president's effort to cling to power is unconstitutional. Sernior government ministers in Burundi warned Monday that the government would not shy away from mobilizing the army against demostrators protesting president Pierre plan to seek a third term in office. Two protesters were shot dead in cashes with police in the capital, Bujumbura. Witness said that one of the protesters was killed in the Ngagara district and the other one in the Musaga district of the capital Bujumbura.
Syria Islamists rebels take northern town of Jisr al-shughur.
Islamist rebels in Syria have captured much of the key north-western town of Jisr al-shughur, activist say. The Islamist forces including the al-Qaeda - affilated al-Nusra Front, began the assault on Thursday. Syrian state - run news agency sana said government warplanes had bombed "groups of terrorists" and destroyed dozens of military vehicles. Jisr al-shughur, was the last major town under government control in Indlib province. BBC reported citing Observatory group that bodies of at least 60 pro - government fighters were lying in the streets. The fall of this city is a blow that could expose the regimes coastal heartland to rebels attack. Islamist rebels controls a large territories in the country.

Islamic State Group Arrive in Yemen, Release video Threatening to cut the throats of Shiite Houthi rebels.
An Islamic State affiliated group in Yemen warns of attacks against the Iran-back Shiite Houthi fighters who controls Sana'a, the Yemen's capital and other parts of the country. The video showed around two dozen Islamic State fighters in full military gear training in the desert area, which is claimed to be located near the capital Sana'a. The group calling itself soldiers of the Caliphate in Yemen threaten to cut the throats of Shiite Houthi rebels who forced the president of Yemen Hadi to fled to Saudi Arabia for safety after Houthi rebels pushed to take control of Hadi Aden based.
Nepal earthquake death toll climbs to 1910.
A Nepal police official says at least 1,910 people have lost their lives, including at least 721 in Kathmandu in the powerful earthquake that strunk Nepal over the weekend. Deputy inspector General of police Komal Singh Bam says the death toll is expected to rise. Home ministry spokesman Laxmi Prasad Dhakal told AFP that 1805 were reported dead, with at least 4718 injured. But the overall toll was expected to be much higher, and at least 47 people have died in Neighbouring India.

Initial death toll immediately after the quake was put at 114 and rescue operation continue to search for survivor. Another 34 people were killed in India, 12 were killed in Tibet and two people lost their lives in Bangladesh. The death toll in the powerful earthquake that hit Nepal on Saturday has risen to 876, a home ministry official said. The quake struck Nepal and parts of northern India and was also felt in India, Malaysia and Bangladesh. The powerful earthquake destroyed several buildings including a UNESCO World Heritage site, indiatimes reported.

Saudi Arabia fighter jets intercepted an Iranian airplane carrying humanitarian aid from entering Yemen's airspace. Report from Iranian media said an Iranian cargo plane carrying food stuff and medical equipment for the Yemeni people was prevented from Yemen's airspace on Friday. Iranian state-run press tv reported that Saudi Arabia's most senior diplomat in Tehran was summoned on Friday to explain why Saudi warplane prevented Iranian cargo plane from landing in Yemen. Saudi led coalition launched a major air assault against the Iran- back Houthi rebels who had captured the capital Sana'a and other parts of Yemen and forced the legitimate president Hadi to fled to Saudi Arabia for safety.
More than 144 killed as 7.9 magnitude earthquake hits Nepal.
A powerfu 7.9 magnitude earthquake struck near Kathmandu, the Nepal's capital. The powerful earthquake left more than 114 people dead, as the violently shaking earth collapsed houses and triggered avalanches in the Himakiyas. An iconic 19th century tower, the Dgarara tower, in the capital turned into a pile if rubble and Nepalese online media reported that many people were trapped there. The epicentre was 80km northwest of Kathmandu. The Kathmandu valley is about 2.5 million population. The injured werw being treated outside hospital in chaotic services. 20 militants killed in air strikes in northwest Pakistan.
At least 20 militants were killed today in a series of airstrikes by Pakistani fighter jets in Khyber Agency. " In precise aeria strikes in Tirah, Khyber, today, 20 terrorists--including three suicide bombers --were killed. Destroyed hideouts of terrorists including their ammo and ratio dumps, "Inter services public Relations (ISPR) said in a statenent late Wednesday. The strikes came a day after army said that jet strikes killed 22 militants in North Waziristan district, Pakistani media reported. The military says it has killed more than 1200 militants since launching the june 15, 2014 operatin.
Obama regrets deaths of two hostages in US drone strike.
US president Barack Obama today accepted " full responsibility" for the deaths of two American and Italian civilian in a CIA drone strike in January, U.S media reported. " I profoundly regret what happened" , Obama said. " We believed that this was al-Qaeda compound that no civilians were present and that capturing these terrorist was not possible. And we do believe that the operation did take out dangerous members of al-Qaeda. A U.S government official said the drone strikes occured on January 14 and January 19 in the border region between Afghanistan and Pakistan. " It is a cruel and bitter truth, during the fog of war, mistakes happen", he said. Obama press secretary, Josh Earnest, said the victims's family would be compensated.

Saudi-led planes bomb Yemen hours after air war halt.
Saudi-led fighter planes launched new airstrikes in Yemen Wednesday, hours after Riyadh announced a halt to the four-week air campaign, as rebels seized a key loyalist base in Taez, The Express tribune reported. The Houthi rebels took advantage of the lull in air strikes to overrun the headquarters of the 35 Armoured Brigade, loyal to Hadi, which they had besieged for nearly a week, an army officer said. The Saudi led coalition had warned it stood ready to counter against any advance by the rebels and their allies even after it ended operation Decisive storm, from midnight Tuesday.
China, Japan Leader meet in sign of Easing Tensions.
Leader of China and Japan held talks on Wednesday (April 22) for only the second time since taking office, seeking to mend ties damaged by territorial disputes and a bitter wartime legacy. Chinese president XI Jinping and Japanese prime minister shinzo Abe met on the sidelines of a summit in Jaata, the Indonesia's capital. The meeting which lasted about30 minutes was viewed as much warmer and better compared to the last talks between the two leader last year, channel news asia reported. The meeting took place despite Abe speech at Asian - African summit in which he warned powerful nations against imposing on the weak. Shaking hands before the talks started, the two men looked more relaxed than at a meeting last year.

Saudi led coalition air campaign against Houthi rebels in Yemen is over.
The Saudi-led coalition declared an end to its military campaign against Iran backed Houthi rebels, Saudi State TV reported on Monday. The king of Saudi Arabia has ordered the Saudi National Guard to join the airforce and army in the campaign against Houthi rebels allied with Iran. The end of the operation " Decisive Storm" will now make way for a new phase aimed at preventing the rebels from functioning effectively. The announcement comes after two air strikes in Sana'a killed at least 40 people. Speaking at a news conference in Riyadh, the Saudi capital on Wednesday, Brig. Gen. Ahmed Asiri said the objectives of the campaign have been met and it wound cease at midnight. Meanwhile, Yemeni embattled president Hadi, in a live broadcast said his government have decided to share power with the Houthi in a bid to end the fighting. Hadi thank the forces that were loyal to his government. He praised them for their brave resistance against the Houthi rebels. Hadi also thank the Gulf countries for their help to bombard the Iran back Houthi fighters.
Former Egyptian president Mohammed Morsi sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Mohammed Morsi who was ousted by Egyptian military as the first democratically elected president of Egypt has been sentencedto 20 years in prison. The ruling, which can be appealed, and muted Islamist reaction folliwing it underscore the drammatic downfall of Morsi. The court found Morsi and 14 other members of the Muslim Brotherhood guilty of inciting violence against protesters who had staged a sit-in outside the presidential Palace in 2012, when Morsi was still Egypt's president. Morsi, who was deposed on July 3 after mass protests against his government, had won Egypt's first democratic elections since the ousted of Hosni Mubarak. US aircraft Carrier sent to Yemen water to block Iran arms shipment to Houthi rebels.
US Navy confirms reports that aircraft carrier heading towards Yemen to intercept Iranian ships said to be carrying weapons for Houhi rebels. The official was reported to have confirmed to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity, Ynetnews reported. The U.S Theodore Roosavelt is reported steaming towards the water off Yemen to join the other American ships prepared to intercept any Iranian vessels carrying weapons to the Iran-backed Houthi fighters. There are about nine US ships in the region, including Cruise abd destroyer carrying teams that can board and search other vessels. The Houthi rebels are battling government-backed figjters in an effort to take control of the country.Meanwhile, Pentagon spokesman denied the report say " ships are repositioning to conduct maritime security operation, they are not going to interept Iranian ships"
Powerful explosions from Saudi -led airstrikes rock Yemeni capital.
Saudi-led airstrikes on weapons caches in Sana'a, the Yemen's capital on Monday caused massive explosions that shattered windows, sent resdents scrambling for shelters and killed a local TV presenter. Witness reported mushroom clouds rising over the mountainous outskirts of Sana'a, where the largest weapon stores are located. A Yemeni official told the AP news agency that fighter jets were demolishing parts of the mountain, in an attempt to uncoverand destroy scud missiles, dw reported. Aljazeera news network reported that 46 people have been killed, 300 people were wounded when Saudi-led airstrikes reportedly struck a scud missile basein Faj Attan, a district in Yemen. The editor-in chief of the Yemen Post told Aljazeera news network that the air attack was the strongest explosion ever witness in Sana'a. Witness compared the blast, which sent a plume of smoke hundreds of metres into the sky, to earthquake.

Video purports to show Islamic State killing of Ethiopia christians in Libya.
Islamic State released a new video purportedly showing the mass execution and beheading of Ethiopian christians in Libya. The video shows Islamic State fighters marching their victims along a coastline, presumably in Libya; the second group is dressed in black jump suits and was marched and executed in the desert,ynetnews reported. A masked fighters wielding a pistol says christians must convert to Islam or pay a special tax prescribed the Holy Quran. Ealier this year, Islamic State in Libya executed many Egyptian coptic christians which prompted Egyptian AirForce to lunched a retaliatory attack on Islamic State targets in Libya. In January, militants loyal to the Islamic State group claimed responsibility for an attack on the Corinthia hotel in Tripoli, the Libya capital.
Up to 700 feared dead After migrant boat sinks off Libya coast.
About 700 African migrants were feared dead on Sunday when their boat capsized off Libya coast overnight, the Times of Malta reported. The Italian Coastguard launched a major rescue operation after the boat oerturned at midight local time, South of the Italian island of Lampedusa. The United Nations refugee agency (UNHCR) said only 28 people had survived the wreck. Their testimony suggested there had been about 700 people on board. 24 bodies have been recovered from the sea. Among the corpses was the body of a boy aged between 10 and 15. At least 400 African migrants drown last week of Libya coast after their overcrowded boat overturned. 33 killed, 100 injured in Afghanistan blasts.
At least 33 people have been killed and more than 100 iniured in a series of explosions in the eastern Afghanistan city of Jalalabad, Police chief said. It was a suicide attack. He stressed that police had yet to determine if the attackers ad worn the explosive or had placed them in a car. "It is early to say what kind of suicide bmber" Taliban insurgents denied responsibility. The militant spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told reuters " It was an evil act" According to BBC, a spokesman for a group claiming to represent Islamic State in Afghanistan climed responsibility of the deadly attack. Brutal images of the injured and the dead at the scene have been circulating online.
India's inter-minsterial committe recommends taking Aljazeera off air in map row.
The India government has called for Aljazeera news channel to be taken off for five days for recurrently showing the wrong map of India in various programes, The Express Tribune reported. India acused Aljazeera news channel of violating the program code by showing wrong maps of India on repeated occasions ad recommended that it be taken off air for five days, The Hindu rported. According to order issued by the mnistry on April10, the SGI observed that the maps displayed by the TV channel were shown wrongly. The SGI said that a portion of India territory has not been shown with clarity and proper shape in another map. The channel also did not show Lakshadweep and Andaman isands.

Al Qaeda captures major airport, oil terminal in South Yemen.
Military officials and residents say al Qaeda has seized a major airport, a seaport and an oil termnal in south Yemen after troops were overran by the AlQeada fighters. After seizing the airport, the militants easily captured the sea port and oil termnal. Al Qaeda overran the city itself earlier this month and freed inmates, including militant comnander from its prison. Nasser Baqazouz, an activist in the city, said the troops guarding the airport put up little resistance, U.S News reported. Analyst says Al Qaeda has used the crisis inYemen to gain ground in the country without any major rsistance.
Islamic State's Pakistan chief killed while planting bomb. Report
Islamc State's Pakistan chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed was killed when a roadside bomb he was planting went off in the country tribal region, IBNLIVE reported citing media report. Saeed along with two of his acvomplices were reported to have lost their lives on Thursday in Toor Dora area of Tirah valley in the Khyber tribal region, times of India reported citing Express Tribune. However, there was no confirmation from the Islamic State group. Saeed hailed from the Aurakzai Agency and was among five leading Tehreek-e- Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commanders. The group had joined Islamic State under the Leadership of Sahidullah Shalid a former spokesman of TTP.
Muslim migrants throw 12 Nigerian and Ghanian christians overboard on the Mediterranean Sea.
Italian police in Sicily repoted that muslim migrants had thrown 12 christians overboard during recent crossing from North African country of Libya to Europe (Italy). Palermo police said in a statement on Thursday that they learned of the incident while interviewing tearful survivors from Nigeria and Ghana who arrived in Palermo on Wednesday morning after being rescuedat sea, The guardian reported. The incident happened after the victims " professed the christian faith while the aggressors were muslim", according to information given to Police by some of the survivors. The 12 christian migrants from Nigeria and Ghana were allegedly threaten by 15 other muslim passengers from Ivory Coast, Senegal, Mali and Guinea Bissau. They were eventually thrown to their death, witness said. Meanwhile, Italian police said they have arrested the 15 muslim migrants who allegedly carried the crime.

Fire guts building housing several commercial businesses in lagos, Nigeria.
The famous Mamnan Kotangora building in Marina area of Lagos Isand was gutted by fire on Tuesday. The fire started on the second floor before spreading to the third floor. The building houses corporate entities including The Nigeria Depisit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), The Federal Mortage Bank, Diamond Bank, MBL Financial Services, a Law firm among others, local media reported. Local media reported citing Eye witnesses that, the fire started of around the generator house of the building. Meanwhile, the fire have been put off sucessfully. No life was lost.
