Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula said Tuesday that its spiritual leader, Ibrahim al-Rubaish, was killed by a drone strike in Yemen, Aljazeera news network reported. According to medoa reports, the group said in a statement on Tuesday that Ibrahim al-Rubaish was killed in a drone attack. Rubaish was a former detainee at Guantanamo Bay. The U.S has killed a number of high ranking AQAP leaders in recent years through targeted drone strikes. Kathleen C. Buther, a spokesperson for the U.S director of National Intelligence, said her office is aware of the group claim but " cannot confirm anything at this time".
