The official number of dead from Sturday's powerful Nepal earthquake climbed 2,500 by Sunday evening. Nepal authorities said Sunday that at least 2,463 people in that country gad died in Nepal alone, hindustan times reported. Saturday's magnitude 7.8 earthquake spread horror from Kathnandu to small villages and to the slopes of Mount Everest. The Pope called for assistance for the survivors during his weekly Sunday blessing. Dozens of aftershocks, including a powerful temblor on Sunday afternoon, have jolted Nepa over the weekend forcing thousands of people to shelter where they can.
