A powerfu 7.9 magnitude earthquake struck near Kathmandu, the Nepal's capital. The powerful earthquake left more than 114 people dead, as the violently shaking earth collapsed houses and triggered avalanches in the Himakiyas. An iconic 19th century tower, the Dgarara tower, in the capital turned into a pile if rubble and Nepalese online media reported that many people were trapped there. The epicentre was 80km northwest of Kathmandu. The Kathmandu valley is about 2.5 million population. The injured werw being treated outside hospital in chaotic services. The after shocks were felt in India northern part and New Delhi as well as in Bangladesh. Casualties figures is expected to increase. I will continue to updates you on this story as soon as I get it.
