Russia lifts ban on supplying S-300 Missile Defense system to Iran

      Russia has lifted a ban on supplying Iran with a sophisticated air defense missile system, the Kremlin said. President Vladimir Putin has signed a degree to lift the ban on the sales of the S-300 anti -aircraft missile system, the Kremlin's press service said in a statement. Russia signed the 800 million dolars system in 2007, but suspended their delivery three years later after strong opposition from the United State and Israel. Russian foriegn minister Sergey Lavrou commented on the decision, saying Russia decided to lift the ban because of the progress made so far on Iran nuclear program.
