Russian nuclear submarine catches fire at shipyard.


    A Russian atomic submarine was reported to have caught fire in a shipyard in the north of the country on Tuesday. The name of the submarine has not yet been released but reports says that weapons were taken off before repairs work started, express.co.uk reported. "Everyone was promptly evacuated", USC spokesnan IIya Zhitonuirsky said, adding that most of the fire had been extinguished by 04.30 p.m Russia time. Televised footage from the dock showed black smoke rising above the gaint atomic submarine when it caught fire, according to reports. TASS news agency cited a source as saying the submarine's nuclear reactor had been shut down prior to the blaze.
