At least 100 extremist militants and 17 Egyptian soldiers killed in Sianai.

   At least 17 Egyptian soldiers lost their lives after extremist militants affiliated to Islamic State launched a major attacks on army check points in Sinai peninsula, local media reported. State-run Television reported that about 100 of the attackers were killed the Egyptian forces backed by airforce fighter planes. The Islamic State affiliates Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis militants reportedly claimed respobsibility of the attack. Egypt military spokesperson, Brig.Gen Mohammed Samir, said fighting was still underway in the area between the armed forces and militants. Skynews Arabia reporter said 60 soldiers were killed in the attack. Almayadeen Arabic channel reported that extremist planted explosive devices surrounding a police station in Sheikh Zowayed to present any assistant. Extremist militants  step up attack since 2013 after the army topple Egypt first democratically elected president Morsi.
