Arab foreign ministers meeting in Egypt agreed Thursday on the formation of a joint military force, the Arab League's chief and the Egyptian foreign minister said. " This is the first time that a force will be created and work under the name of Arab States" Nabil al-Arab said. The draft text says the force would carry out "rapid response operations against threat to Arab States" . Earlier in the week, Saudi Arabia launched a military offensive against Houthi rebels in Yemen, who have seized parts of the country including the capital.
