Nigeria's military claims to have destroyed the headquarters of Boko Haram Islamist group in a northeastern Nigeria townf Gwoza. President Goodluck Jonathan had said earlier that the operation to librate Gwoza would be carried out today, Friday. The official Twitter account of the Nigerian Defence Headquarters announced " FLASH: Troops this morning captured Gwoza destroying the Headquarters of the terrorists selg- styled Caliphat" several members of Boko Haram members were killed and a mop - up operation was taking place in Gwoza, the army said on its official Twitter acount, adding that details would follow.
