Pakistani military holds first Republic Day parade in seven Years.



       Pakistan held its first Republic Day parade in seven years on Monday. The parade was seen as symbolic show of strenght that started with 31 - gun salute at dawn, Pakistani local media reported. Voice of American reported that security was very tight in Islamabad, particularly around the venue where aerial military expertise was demostrated as fighter jets and helicopters flew over. No parades had been held since 2008 folliwing an escalation in the military's conflict with Pakistani Taliban. Pakistan Day is celebrated on March 23 every year to mark the adoption of a resolution that demanded the establishment of a seperate homeland for the muslim of British India on the same day in 1940.
