Incumbent Uzebkistan president Islam Karimous wins election.

          Uzbekistan president Islam Karimov has been re-elected with 90 percent of the vote cast. The country's electoral commission said on Monday 91 percent of voters turned out on Sunday to re-elect 77-year-old Islam Karrimov, dw reported. The Uzbek leader has been in power since 1989. This will be his third term under the current constitution in Uzbekistan. Russian presdent office sent congratulation message to the president who has led Ubzbekistan since 1989. " Despitea clear constitutional limite of two consecutive preisidential term, the central election commission registered the incumbent president as a candidate", Tana de Zulueta, the mission head told reporters, The Sydney Morning Herald reported.
