Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has won a clear victory in Israel's parliamentary elections, local nedia in Israel reported, after 99 percent of the ballot boxes were counted. Netanyahu Likud party had won 29 -30 seats in the 120 - members Knesset, soundly defeating the Zionist Union opposition on 24 seats, Israeli media said. Prime minister Bejamin Netanyahu had earlier declared victory in Tuesday's hotly contested national elections. Reuters news agency reported that Israel opposition leader Isaac Herzog has called Netanyahu to congratulate him on his election victory. Addressing cheering supporters last night Netanyahu said " we achieved a great victory for our people of Israel"
