Syrian Islamist rebels 'captured' government control city of Idlib.
Syrian rebels, incuding the al-Qaeda affiliate al-Nusrah Front, claim to have capured Idlib, provincial capital of northwestern syria, Syria Observatory for Human Right said. At least six different rebels groups took part n the operation to capture Idlib from president Assad's forces. The Syrian monitory group, said the rebels had taken control of allof the city after collapsing government forces withdrew. 130, people was reported killed in the offensive. Idlib is only the second provincial capital to fall into rebel hands, after Raqqa was captured by Islamic State. An online video posted online showed rebels celebrating their victory. Aljazeera news network reported on its news bulletin, citing Syria State TV saying Syrian government soldiers are regrouping to fight the rebels.
