20 Islamist militants killed in airstrikes in northwest Pakistan.

         Pakistan's military said Saturday that it airstrikes against Islamist terrorist operating in the northwestern part of the country have left 20 militants dead. The airstrikes took place around Datta Khel in north Waziristan (tribal region), the military said in a statement. Pakistan's launched a major offensive to degrade and destroy the Taliban militants operating in tribal region of north Waziristarn a year ago. The operation have so far killed 2800 islamist militants and also left about 350 government solders dead. So far, there is no statement from Taliban and other militant group operating in the area to confirm or deny the casualties. North Waziristan (tribal region) was considered as the headquarters of Pakistani Taliban who had launched attacked against innocent civilians. The most disturbing one was when the Taliban militants launched a major assault on a army secondary sechool were more than hundred school children were killed in cold blood.
