Heatwave in Southern Pakistan kills over 600 people.


    At least 600 people have lost their lives after major heatwave hit Southern Pakistan, a senior Pakistani health official said. Most of the deaths were reported in Karachi, Pakistani  largest city. Over 600 of the death were in Karachi and 19 died in other parts of the provine. The Irish Times reported that the heatwave coincides with major power cuts which prompted many residents to criticised the provincial government and the K-electricity that supplies electricity to the city. Temperatures in Karachi was reported to have reach 45 degrees celsius over the weekend. " Many people hae been taken to private hospitals where they have died----we are collecting that data", top adinistrative health official Saeed Mangnejo said. The heatwave come after more than one thousand people died of heatwave in neibouring India.
