Fuel Tanker Explosion Razes 44 shops, 21 vehicles in southwest Nigeria city of Lagos.


      Several shops and vehicles were burnt down on Tuesday after a loaded fuel tanker crashed in commercial city of Lagos. The tanker fell off the bridge early morning, spilling its products into the drainage. A spokesman for National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Ibrahim Farinloye, said " we received the alert around 12:58 am and we swung into action. Unfortunately it was a late action" No fewer than 21 vehicles, forty four shops and three houses were burnt down by the fire. Newly swore in Governor of Lagos State, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, who visited the scene of the accident promised to compensate those who lost property ad assist them get back to their normal business.
