Thousands to face sarvation in Norh Korea as Drought hits the country

South Korea's Unification ministry said North Korea faces famine if the country's drought continues. The director of the world Food program (WEP) told  South Korea news agency (yonhap news agency) that United Nations is gearing up to send emergency assistance should the situation worsen. Under the regime of Kim Jong Un, the country's food production is estimated to fall by up to 10 percent this year, but the number could increase if the drought continues, according to South Korea Unification ministry. North Korea was hit by a serious famine in the 1990s, in which many people were believed to have died. North Korea is facing several sanctions imposed by UN security council and the United State after the country refused to stop its nuclear weapon programme. North Korea fought deadly war with South Korea in the 1950s which led to a hostile relationship between the two Nations.
