China's former Security Chief Zhou Yougkang sentenced to life in prison


    Chinese authorities said on Thursday that former domestic security Czar Zhou Yougkand had been sentenced to life in prison on corruption related charges after a secert trail. The 72-year-old Zhou was sentenced to lesser terms on the abuse of power and state secrets charges and was ordered to serve his jail term concurrently, according to Chinese media. China's Television showed a clip of Zhou, 72 pleading guilty at a secret trial in Tianjin. Mr Liu, was also head of China's National Energy Aministration, was expelled from the China's Communist party last year and indicated on bribery and corruption in June. He was shown on China's Central Television bowing to the bench, his head of one-black hair now silver. " I accepted the verdict made by court to me", he said.
