Nearly 70 killed in fuel tanker crash in Southeastern Nigeria town of Onitsha.



    At least 60 people lost their lives when a petrol tanker lost control and crashed  into a park in Onitsha. The driver of the tanker was reported to have lost control due to over speeding and crashed into Asaba park,Ontsha, local media reported. The tanker caught fire which caused some victims to burn beyong recognition. According to eyes witness There is a likehood that the casualties figure will go up citing Red Cross Coordinator Umar Abdou Mairiga. Dozens of other people were reportee to had injured in the fata accident in which 13 near by vehicles aslo incinerated. A police spokesman said the tanker was speeding before it lost control. He put the death toll at 23, with seven injured. " Most of the victims were burnt beyong recognition said Emeka Kachi, Vice President of the local Red Cross.
