Former military ruler Mohammadu Buhari is set to take oath of office today May 29 as the president of the president and Commander in Chief of the armed forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The event will be held at the Symbolic Eagle square, Abuja. Buhari is the first Nigerian to oust a sitting president through the ballot box. The out going president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on Thursday hosted a dinner event at the state banquet hall in Aso rock villa to mark his handover to Buhari. The event is expected to be witnessed by many world leaders. President Goodluck Jonathan has formally handed over the notes and reports on the status of the nation to president-elect Buhari yesterday. President Jonathan is expected to fly to Port Harcourt Airport after the handover, from where he is expected to be flown in a helicopter to his home state of Bayelsa.
