Turkey's government officials say it fighter jet have shot down a Syria military helicopter that violated its airspace. Defence minister Ismet Yilmaz said the helicopter was shot down on Saturday over southern province of Hatay, near the border with Syria, Japan NHK World reported. Syria State TV says it was a drone not helicopter as claimed by Turkey. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has emerged as one of the main opponents of President Bashar Al-Assad of Syria, saying his exit is key to solving the problem in Syria. Turkish's NTV News station quoted eyewitness saying that the aircraft crashed on the Syria side of the border.
