Thousands flees after landslide blocks river in Nepal.


      Thousans of people had fled Nepal after landslide blocked a river in quake-hit Nepal's mountainous northwest, Nepal media reported. The landslide, which occured at around midnight, sent mud and rocks surging into the Kali Gandaki river in Myagdi district, causing water levels to rise by 150 metre. Government administrator Yam Bahadur Chokhal says the landslide blocked the Kaligandaki River early Sunday and the buildup of water has created a lake of Kilometres long. Officials say that flooding could reach as far as India if the blockage were give away. A number of labdslides have hit Nepal since the 7.8 magnitude earthquake on 25 April which killed more than 8,000 people and inuured many more.
